You can contact a Air Force recruiter near you. As the name implies, an Air Force Recruiter is the person
that answers many of your Air Force Type questions and their job is persuade people to join the US Air Force.
If you don't know where the nearest Air Force recruiter is located at,
here's a nifty site to go to and find the closest one: Air Force Advisor Locator.
Also, If you are located close to a military base, you can call the base's Public Affairs Office ask
them if can direct your question to a military member. You should explain to them that you are working
on a Scout badge and this information is vital to earning this patch.

A great place to find a list of Air Force Base's websites is  U.S. Air Force Sites
If you want to interview a retiree, here is a link to a site with many links to various veteran organizations
who might help you get in contact with a retiree. Be polite and explain what you're doing or that you are working on a patch.
Also, your phonebook may have phone numbers for veteran organizations. Look in the yellow pages under Veteran Organizations.
