News and announcements of general troop interest

The guys did great at the recent winter camp-o-ree. They got an overall third place for the skills/winter survival events (garnishing the only perfect score in the pancake cooking and flipping event). And they got first place in the Klondike sled race, non-wheeled division. They not only had the fastest time in the non-wheeled division, but they beat the fastest wheeled sled by 9 seconds! Way to go guys - great team effort!

Service Opportunity!!

Camp Sassafras near Linton, IN, is an awesome, heavily wooded camping area that several troops from the western side of the district know about and love to use. On March 24, White River Trails district and Order of the Arrow are sponsoring a day long clean up project from 8:30am to 4:00pm. Apparently, there is a lot of brush to be cleared out.

This is also the location of the upcoming district Spring Camp-o-ree. Those troops who participate in this service project will get to camp in the area they worked in when the camp-o-ree rolls around.

This is a great opportunity for our troop to help out the district and for our scouts to get some needed service hours under their belts.
