Hiking to Santa Fe Lake, February 17, 2007

Saturday February 17, 2007 was a bright but cold morning. With temperatures in the 20's and a strong north wind Troop 232 gathered for a day hike to Santa Fe Lake.

The boys enjoy walking south with the wind to their backs.

Derrick, Morgan, Jacob and Garret take a well earned rest near Santa Fe Lake.

Much of the ground was frozen and falling on the ice became a problem for some, and a game for others.

After hiking over 2 miles the Troop stopped to set up a camp site and make lunch.

The boys watch the foil pack dinners cook. Donald and Garret enjoy a break waiting for lunch to cook.

Back on the trail the Troop stops on the north side of the lake to get out of the wind.

The frozen lake in the background made a great photo opportunity.

After a long day of hiking the Troop walks the last stretch back to Roosevelt's house.

Troop 232 would like to thank Mike Roosevelt, Larry Walling and Bill Larson for supporting the hike.
