News and Events
TROOP NEWS
Welcome to our new Scoutmaster Patrick Landry.
Fundraiser - The Troop is selling sheet sets this year. Each set
is $35. All sizes and colors are the same price. Order
forms are due back to Barb Landry on November 11, 2010. All money
is due at the time you turn in your order.
Dues - The Scouts have elected to start paying dues. This will
teach them responsibility and help them earn month for monthly
outings. Dues will be $2.50 a week and must be turned in to the
Troop scribe. Dues are still owed if a scout is absent, but each
scout will have one excused absence every other month for which the
dues are waived.
Uniforms - Scouts need to be wearing at least a class B uniform to all
meetings. A class B uniform consists of blue Troop t-shirt and
official BSA scout pants.
NATIONAL NEWS
BSA now requires that all unit leaders be fully trained in
order to re-register. Most training can be accomplished
on-line. Follow the BSA Online Learning connection on our LINKS
page and start training today.
Effective June 1, 2010:
- Youth Protection Training is required for
all registered volunteers.
- New leaders are required to take Youth
Protection Training before they submit their application for
registration. The certificate of completion for this training must be
submitted at the time application is made and before volunteer service
with youth begins.
- Youth Protection Training must be taken
every two years. If a volunteer's Youth Protection Training record is
not current at the time of recharter, the volunteer will not be
reregistered.
